Win11 Moment 3 update caused the trouble on AMD graphics card.
News on May 30th, Microsoft’s Win11 system has been released for more than a year, and recently launched the Moment 3 update, which has been praised by Microsoft as the most reliable system in history, but every time Win11 is updated, it will cause some troubles.
This time AMD graphics card users were troubled and Win11 replaced the new driver with the old driver.
In addition to updating Microsoft’s patches, Win11 will also upgrade hardware drivers. Many people know this.
A few days ago, some AMD graphics card users reported that there was an error when updating the driver for Win11. The installed driver version is actually older, which will cause AMD’s driver to Prompt error.
The software will display “Windows Update may have automatically replaced your AMD graphics driver, and the version of AMD software you loaded is not compatible with your currently installed AMD graphics driver.”
AMD also confirmed this problem, pointing out that Windows Update installed the UWP driver for the Radeon hardware, which is not compatible with the currently installed AMD software, so an error will be prompted because there are two versions of the AMD driver in the system.
There are two solutions. One is to find the device installation option in the update settings and select No to prevent the system from automatically installing the driver. Another method is to reinstall the driver provided by AMD.
Of course, if users choose to use the UWP driver provided by Microsoft, they can also uninstall AMD’s own driver.
The hardware driver installed by Microsoft is also provided by the manufacturer, so there is no real harm to this problem. It is just that different versions cause conflicts. Reinstalling the driver or uninstalling one of them is fine.
