The American SSD brand Sabrent is about to launch an 8TB capacity Rocket 4 Plus SSD hard drive, and it is PCIe 4.0.

SSDs with 8TB capacity are actually not new. In the past few years, manufacturers have often shown 8TB SSDs, but few are actually on the market. Rocket 4 Plus is not only a capacity of 8TB, but also PCIe 4.0, both performance and capacity have been greatly improved. .

The Rocket 4 Plus 8TB hard drive will use TLC flash memory, and the main control is Phison’s PS5018-E18, which released in November last year.

It is known as the world’s strongest PCIe 4.0 main control. It has a continuous read performance of 7.4GB/s and continuous write performance.

There is also 7GB/s, not only the read speed has risen sharply, but the key write performance has also exceeded 7GB/s. It is currently the only SSD master with both read and write performances reaching 7GB/s.

The performance of the Rocket 4 Plus 8TB version is slightly lower, reading 7100MB/s and writing 6600MB/s, but it is also top performance.

The Rocket 4 Plus 8TB hard drive will arrive soon, but the most critical price is not yet known. The Rocket 4 Plus 4TB version is priced at about US$900, and the price of the 8TB version is at least doubled.  The price is not low.
