Network Cable Crimper

Network Cable Crimper is used to finish the connection between network cables and connectors.  Some Crimpers can finish both RJ45 and RJ11 connectors.

The working principle of the crimper needs to be understood from RJ45. The alias of RJ45 is also called 8P8C, which means 8 grooves and 8 contacts.

RJ45 is a kind of information socket (ie communication terminal) connector in the wiring system. The connector consists of a plug (connector, crystal head) and a socket (module). The plug has 8 grooves and 8 contacts.

RJ is the abbreviation of Registered Jack, which means “registered socket”.

In FCC (Federal Communications Commission Standards and Regulations), RJ is an interface describing public telecommunication networks, and RJ45 for computer networks is the common name for standard 8-bit modular interfaces.

The function of the crimping tool is to realize the crimping of the RJ45 connector and the twisted pair, and the crimping of the RJ45 connector and the twisted pair can be implemented in two standards, namely, T568A and T568B two types of wire sequence implementation standards.

The common termination standard is T568B line sequence: white orange, orange, white green, blue, white blue, green, white brown, brown.

The termination of the RJ45 is that the crimping tool crimps the copper insert through the mechanical principle, so that the copper insert penetrates the insulating layer PE skin and contacts the copper core to achieve a physical connection, thereby achieving the purpose of signal transmission.

It can be found that every crimping tool, whether it is an RJ45 end interface or an RJ11 end interface, will have two obvious crimping points (ie, two crimping ends). The first crimping point presents the shape of 8 teeth, crimping the 8 copper inserts of the crystal head, and each copper insert is connected to each copper core during the crimping.

When the copper insert contacts the copper core, it also fixes each copper core. The second crimping point is the non-return button on the crystal head, and the entire network cable is fixed to the crystal head twice. This can achieve a stable connection between the network cable and the crystal head. Therefore, a qualified crimping tool has very important requirements for the dimensional accuracy of these two crimping points.

If the geometric parameters are wrong, it will cause the copper insert and the copper core to fail to be physically connected or directly short-circuit, which is fatal to the construction personnel.

In addition, the second crimping point cannot be accurately crimped, which results in the network cable cannot be fixed twice, which makes the network cable easy to separate from the crystal head, which affects the service life and transmission performance of the product.

After the crimping is completed, a test is performed. If the network cable can be normally connected to the Internet, it indicates that there is no problem with the crimping.
