Google Play Store will hide apps that have not been updated within 2 years to ensure user safety.
Apps that have not been updated for a long time are cleaned up by Google: users can no longer search.
On April 11, Google announced that the Google Play Store will hide apps that have not been updated within 2 years to ensure user safety.
According to Google’s regulations, when the Android 12 operating system was launched in October last year, the APP must be updated before October this year.
If the developer has not updated it before October 2023, the APP will be hidden by Google Play and users will not be able to search to the APP.
It is worth noting that this provision is limited to the Android 12 operating system. If users use an old version of Android, they can still search for these apps that have not been updated for a long time.
Additionally, users who have previously installed but uninstalled the app on Google Play can still find and reinstall the app.
Google said that APPs that have not been updated for a long time may have privacy loopholes and cause security problems.
Therefore, this policy aims to ensure the security of users’ smartphones and improve the user experience of Google Play. It is hoped that developers can update the APP on Google Play as soon as possible.
