China-Made iPhone 15 for Europe and the U.S | Indian-Made for China? Apple Responds: It’s a Rumor
On September 13 – The iPhone 15 series has been officially unveiled and will begin pre-orders this Friday, with the first sales scheduled for the following Friday.
Notably, following the release of the new devices, there have been rumors suggesting that “China-made iPhone 15 will be exclusively available in the European and American markets, while the Indian-made iPhone 15 will be specifically targeted at the Chinese market.”
In response to this, Apple representatives clarified that this rumor originated from an overseas report, but the actual statement was different: “Apple will, for the first time, sell iPhones manufactured in India on the day of their launch.”
According to reports, India currently produces only about 7% of iPhones, while China accounts for approximately 90% of iPhone production.
India’s production capacity is not sufficient to meet the entire Chinese market’s demand, so this is simply a baseless rumor.
Certainly, Apple is indeed making efforts to increase the proportion of production in India, as local production costs are significantly lower, and maximizing profit remains a top priority for the business.
However, it is worth noting that some Apple products manufactured in India did have slightly lower quality in the past, but this was within acceptable limits, and normal usage was unaffected since Apple’s standards for product quality remain unchanged.
