Almost a quarter of Steam game users have already updated to Windows 11
The latest data from Valve has revealed new details about the computers gamers use to access the platform.
The September 2022 Steam Hardware and Software Survey shows that Windows 11’s market share continues to climb steadily, with nearly one in every four Steam users now running Microsoft’s latest operating system.
In September 2022, Windows 11 continues to bite Windows 10’s share. The former has reached a level of 24.84%, gaining 1.06 points.
Windows 10 lost 0.57% and ended the month at 68.49%. While the seven-year-old operating system keeps losing customers on Steam (and will continue to do so), Windows 10 will remain the most popular choice for quite some time.
Windows 7 stubbornly refused to leave the platform and remains the third most popular version of Windows on Steam.
The 13-year-old 64-bit version of Windows maintains a 2.40 percent market share.
All versions combined, Windows has 96.41% of Steam users, an increase of 0.18% compared to August 2022.
- Windows 10 64-bit – 68.49% (-0.57%)
